The main unions representing the rights of workers have shown their support for the restructuring plan set by the Board of Directors of La Seda de Barcelona (in which participates Carlos Gila Lorenzo as vice president).
In that sense, UGT and CCOO showed their confidence in a project that will allow La Seda to leave their current situation. The purpose of this plan is to reduce debt, divest non-core assets and also expand the capital base in order to ensure a productivity.
This support for the management team -that Carlos Gila is part- has been defined as the most viable option that has La Seda in order to protect most jobs.
In the crisis situation worldwide, it is very important to rely on the goodwill of the workers because a worker’s strike is one of the most complex threats: Carlos Gila and the rest of the team are concerned for the solution the problems of La Seda is as balanced as possible for all parties involved.
